The La Salle Brothers in collaboration with Old Georgians’ Association Taiping are happy to invite you and a team from your school to the 6th Malaysian Lasallian Educators’ Conference  (MaLEC 6) to be held in Taiping, Perak from the 14 - 17 September 2014.

Theme : Inspiring Dignity, Nurturing Quality
(Towards an Integrated and Holistic Lasallian Education in Malaysia)

  1. Who should come?                            
    • Administrators and Teachers ( The Principal/ Headmaster/ Headmistress/ Administrative Team and Teachers of Lasallian Schools)
    • Members of the Board - The Chairperson and  Committee members
    • Parent-Teacher Association/ PIBG – The Chairman and  Committee members
    • Alumni  Association – The President and  Committee members

 We want to inspire our children and nurture their quality of education

  1. What we hope to achieve?
The transformation of Lasallian Schools to Inspire Dignity in our Students and to Nurture Quality Education is our goal. The focus of MaLEC 6 will be on our dialogue and discernment as the Family of Lasallian Educators in Malaysia, in keeping with Priority One in our document “Being Lasallians in Malaysia” Our Strategic Plans 2013-2015. 


  1. How will we achieve this?
    • By deepening our understanding of inspiring dignity and nurturing quality in line with our Lasallian Vision and Mission and the National Education Blueprint 2014.
    • To examine the global and regional
  • paradigm shifts in education in the 21st century and        alternative pedagogical innovations.

  1. What are the key concerns and approaches to inspire dignity and nurture quality?
o   Proficiency in the English Language and Literature for critical thinking (Promoting English and Multilingualism)
o   Improving the study of Mathematics in our Information and technological world.
o   Improving the study of Science in our Information and technological world.
o   The Lasallian contribution to moral and ethical education: Character Building, Gender and Ecology.
o   Promoting an all-inclusive Co-Curriculum: Music, Drama, Arts, Culture and Sports in an Educative Community for Formation and Service.
o   Preparing for alternative career paths in the context of a multi-faceted social environment

The Panelist and Working Groups will attempt to:

                (a) Look critically at these Realities as Educators
                 (b) Glean from our Experiences for new perspectives and insights
                (c) Outline implementable tasks and processes, and identify persons responsible

It is our hope that this Conference will be an opportunity for all our Lasallian heads and teachers to meet the La Salle Brothers and members of School Boards, PIBG and Alumni Associations.
